MOLSON COORS – DISTRIBUTION CENTER
Molson-Coors serves the Quebec beer market from this new brewery and distribution center on the South Shore of Montreal. The facility includes a brewery, power station, fermentation tank farm, packaging, and distribution warehouse.
The distribution center has a clear height of 74’ and large spans to accommodate a fully automated storage and retrieval system serving 24 loading doors plus 11 interior loading bays for side-loading trucks. The tank farm rises to a height of 85’, the maximum permitted due to the adjacent airport runway. In addition to the distribution center there are multiple other loading doors to serve receiving of different products, waste management etc.
The facility is designed to stringent health and safety standards affecting all architectural details, as well as floor drainage and finishes. There is also a full-height Maximum Foreseeable Loss (MFL) firewall to meet insurance requirements. A structural steel pipe spine is integrated with the building structure to support the myriad pipe distribution required for the process, and all production and warehouse areas are closely coordinated with many different equipment suppliers.
