Rolls Royce - Renovation of a Luxury Dealership to Meet Brand Standards
Montréal
To bring its facility in line with the latest brand standards, Rolls-Royce Montréal enlisted GKC to modernize its dealership on Décarie Boulevard. As the building's original designers, GKC faced the challenge of integrating Rolls-Royce’s new international concept while sensitively adapting it to the existing architecture.

Spanning approximately 4,500 sq. ft., the project sought to transform the dealership’s interior spaces, delivering a customer experience that embodies the brand’s contemporary image.
The scope included the creation of new areas, such as a bespoke commissioning studio, management offices, and a reception area, alongside a comprehensive redesign of finishes, lighting, and ceiling systems.
One of the project’s primary challenges was integrating new architectural and technological elements into the existing building, including lighting systems, ceiling details, and the new layouts prescribed by Rolls-Royce.
Lighting is the focal point of the design concept. In the vehicle showroom, suspended LED spheres at varying heights evoke a sense of movement inspired by the fluid lines of Rolls-Royce automobiles. This signature feature is accentuated by integrated linear lighting in the ceilings and refined architectural details, elevating the dealership’s luxurious ambiance.
The integration of these systems required extensive reconfiguration of the existing ceilings to meet the brand’s aesthetic and technical requirements. As Robert Weleschuk, Senior Interior Designer, notes: “The ceiling was probably the most complex element of the project,” due to the level of coordination required to incorporate the new lighting systems, custom architectural features, and concealed building equipment.
The project also included the installation of the new entrance, featuring a sliding door that has become an iconic element of the Rolls-Royce identity. Its integration required several architectural and structural modifications to ensure it blended seamlessly with the building envelope.
The customer journey was designed around two complementary environments. The showroom, bright and minimalist, places the vehicles at center stage through a restrained material palette and carefully orchestrated lighting.
Conversely, the Speakeasy Lounge offers a more intimate ambiance, drawing inspiration from exclusive private clubs. Deep tones, rich textures, and subdued lighting stand in sharp contrast to the showroom, creating a welcoming environment for clients.
Rolls-Royce wanted customers to feel as though they were entering an exclusive private club, like a high-end New York bar.

The project also includes a bespoke commissioning studio, where owners can personalize every aspect of their future vehicle, from materials and colours to stitching and finishes.
Through close collaboration with Rolls-Royce’s international design teams and meticulous attention to detail, GKC successfully translated the brand’s distinctive identity into its Montreal setting while remaining faithful to the global Rolls-Royce experience.
