Located in a building with distinctive period architectural character on Saint‑Laurent Boulevard in Montréal, PremiumBeat’s offices underwent a complete renovation designed to support the company’s growth while better reflecting its creative and contemporary identity.
Carried out in three phases to ensure operational continuity, the project included the expansion of the space to occupy the entire floor, along with a reconfiguration that highlights the existing architecture while integrating contemporary interventions. An original barn door was preserved and integrated into the design, maintaining a distinctive architectural element and contributing to the character of the space.
The custom design brings together the character of the original building and a distinctly modern aesthetic, creating a functional and distinctive work environment fully aligned with PremiumBeat’s brand image.

The open-concept layout maximizes natural light by minimizing interior partitions, creating a bright and flexible workplace where creativity, collaboration, and interaction can thrive.
Clean white surfaces are contrasted with black linear lighting and exposed black mechanical systems, reinforcing the contemporary character of the space.
Reflecting the company's open and collaborative culture, the office was designed without a traditional reception desk. Visitors are welcomed into a large entrance area featuring a digital display wall showcasing Shutterstock projects, imagery, and creative content.
A key design feature is a nature-inspired zone that creates the feeling of being outdoors within the workplace. Adirondack seating, integrated planters, wood elements, and a firepit-inspired gathering area provide employees with a welcoming space to relax and connect.
Above, suspended circular panels finished in high-gloss paint evoke lily pads floating on a pond, transforming the ceiling into a sculptural design element and strengthening the project's biophilic design concept.
Supporting employee wellness and active transportation, the office also includes a dedicated coat room and custom staggered vertical bike racks to maximize capacity while protecting surrounding surfaces with durable reinforced wall panels designed for long-term performance.
Together, these interventions transform the workplace into a physical extension of the PremiumBeat brand—creative, dynamic, and community-focused.
